Patient record summarisation
Structured, clinically relevant summaries of the patient record, reviewed by the clinician against the original record.
Clinical decision support
Synmi supports the five core clinical functions — record summarisation, differential diagnosis support, investigation support, medication safety and clinical evidence retrieval — from registration to indicators. Every output is advisory, and the clinician remains responsible for every decision. Clinical expertise first. Technology second. Patient safety always.
Scope note — Kenyan primary care, 2025. Third-party findings: not our deployment, not our measurement. The study describes clinician-facing AI support in that setting; it does not evaluate Synmi.
THE COMPLETE LOOP
Decision support sits at the centre of the hospital loop, not beside it. Every advisory output passes through the clinician before it becomes care.
01
An outpatient is registered with a generated record number; possible duplicates stay under review.
02
The visit opens and routes to the right service point.
03
CoreThe clinician records findings and drafts the note; decision support stays advisory.
04
Orders move through collection to a validated result; critical values open a read-back task.
05
Only signed prescriptions are dispensed; safety alerts stay advisory.
06
Charges copy the authorised tariff; payments allocate to the minor unit.
07
Claims copy posted charges exactly; settlement follows remittance matching.
08
Versioned indicators snapshot immutably for month-to-month comparison.
Synthetic demonstration data only — Demo Patient A at Demo District Hospital. Every output in the loop is reviewed by a qualified clinician before it becomes care.
THE PRINCIPLE
A symptom rarely points to one condition. Clinicians combine medical knowledge, experience and judgment under time pressure. Synmi does not replace that judgment — it strengthens it. Doctor + AI + patient information + clinical evidence form a stronger decision-making process than any one of them alone.
THE FIVE CORE FUNCTIONS
Each function is a deliberate instrument in the clinician's workflow, with its own output structure, its own evidence, and a clinician review step.
01
Structured, clinically relevant summaries of the patient record, reviewed by the clinician against the original record.
02
Conditions that may warrant consideration, with the findings that support or contradict each possibility. Never a verdict.
03
Potentially relevant investigations with rationale. The clinician makes the final decision.
04
Screening for interactions, contraindications and dose concerns. An additional safety net, not an autonomous prescriber.
05
Relevant guidance retrieved and summarised, with the underlying source citation on every response.
Every function is advisory — its output passes through the clinician review step.
SAFETY AND TRUST
Every output is advisory. A qualified clinician reviews and remains responsible for all clinical decisions, aligned with WHO principles on human autonomy and oversight.
Patient data remains in the healthcare institution's controlled environment. Synmi is designed as a secure connection to that environment, not a central repository.
Evidence and guideline outputs carry their underlying source citation, so the clinician can verify every recommendation.
Synmi does not diagnose, does not prescribe, and does not finalise records. It informs the professional who does.
The guided demos use synthetic data only. No real patient data appears in any demonstration.
